Valencia, Spain, is one of my favorite cities I’ve visited! The architecture has a lot of character, and the beaches are truly beautiful. Between La Malvarrosa and Patacona, you have endless beach days waiting for you, surrounded by cafés and shops. I found that the easiest and most cost-effective way to get around is by bike. There are numerous bike rental stations throughout the city, making it accessible for all.
As for the food, Valencia is home to the paella, which is a must-have! I enjoyed La Pepica and Casa Carmela—both right by the beach and both famous for their wood-fired food. I also recommend you wander into Mercado Central, where you’ll find fresh pastries, fruit, and almost anything you can imagine.
As for places to visit, Valencia has tons to see. The City of Arts and Sciences is architecturally stunning and has a lot of intricate artwork. The old town is full of cute cafés, street art, and the Valencia Cathedral, where you can climb the Micalet Tower for the prettiest city view. If you want a quiet escape, take a quick trip to Albufera for a sunset boat ride—it feels like stepping into a postcard.
